The Walking Dead
The Walking Deadis reportedly not working on Negan or Maggie spinoffs . Recently , the bombshell news came down that the venerable post - apocalyptic AMC zombie dramatic play has set up a definitive end level , with season 11 reserve as the net rill for the show . That close wo n’t be abrupt however , as the architectural plan is forTWDseason 11to be a topnotch - sized affair , melt down for 24 episodes spread across two years .
But of grade , the end for the flagship serial does n’t mean the ending for theWalking Deaduniverse . Far from being canceled , the largerTWDfranchise is set to only get larger , with plans for lead charactersDaryl and Carolto receive their own spinoff series , and more architectural plan for an anthology show focusing on both raw and returning characters . And of course , TWDis also function up the new seriesThe World Beyond , focus on a chemical group of youthful survivors , and a theatrical feature film about go away but not dead Rick Grimes .

With Rick , Carol and Daryl all set to get raw life beyond the terminus of the main series , it was natural for fans to inquire what other character might receive their own spinoffs . The characters ofNeganand Maggie are two who would seem good for further geographic expedition in their own standalone series , but as reported byDeadline , neither is currently being considered for the spinoff treatment .
Of course , there has always been deal of talk about the possibility of a Negan spinoff , given the existence of a whole Negan standalone comic entitledNegan Lives ! , with actorJeffrey Dean Morganopenly supporting the estimate . A Maggie spinoff seems like a natural idea too given the importance of that character to the series , and the popularity of actress Lauren Cohan amongTWDfans . Such spinoffs could either explore backstory more thoroughly ( which would be difficult in the case of Maggie , as the doer who play her father Hershel , Scott Wilson , has reach away ) or they could jump ahead to the future and deal with further dangerous undertaking taking place beyond the stopping point of season 11 .
Though Maggie and Negan both on the face of it present ample possibilities for more narration , it seems that as of now , the mightiness - that - be in theWalking Deaduniverse are not focused on them . In the case of Negan , all devotee wo n’t be too bust up to see him disappear , as he ’s been a dissentious figure ever since he get in on the show . Maggie on the other hired hand has always been a darling character , and indeed fans are eager to see her income tax return in theWalking Deadseason 10 finaleand on into time of year 11 . Between the two character , Maggie would seem the more logical one to receive a spinoff , put on Cohan is interested in continuing to play the character . But of path , there ’s a chance Maggie ’s story could be wrapped up thoroughly in time of year 11 , leave no elbow room for further adventure ( research what she was up to during her hiatus from the show might be a possibility , but would also probably seem surplus at this point ) . It ’s also true thatThe Walking Dead ’s home plate is fairly full as it is , with two new series and a movie in the offing , and it ’s disputable that adding Negan and/or Maggie to the spinoff slate would be extend things far too thin .
