The Gentlemen
Summary
The Gentlemenstar Theo James lays out what he need to see in a potential season 2 of the series , explain where the tarradiddle of Eddie Horniman and the Glass family business could go from here . The Gentlemenseason 1 endedwith Eddie and Susie Glass ( Kaya Scodelario ) getting enhanced roles in the weed empire , becoming important members of its development moving forward . This leaves the door exposed for creator Guy Ritchie to potentially make time of year 2 , which could further research where the characters ' stories top them .
Speaking withDeadline(viaThe Direct ) , James revealed his hope forThe Gentlemenseason 2 , laying out what he intend could happen in a succeeding heap of episode . The serial star explicate howhe would desire the show to move beyond its original location , perhaps even outside the UK , to create a wider story that allows character like Eddie to go through even greater arcs . check over out what James had to say below :
We had a peachy time , and I recall there ’s some excitement around it , which I ’m very happy about . I feel very thankful for it because you never know how something ’s going to be received , aboveboard . I think the challenge with The Gentlemen , and I think there ’s a version of more story to narrate in the comedic Corleone family model , right ? Because that was always what Guy [ Ritchie ] , and I , and the rest of us talked about : you have Fredo , you have Eddie , you have a nod to one of the greatest storey of all time . But I think if you ’re going to do it again , you need a really strong throughline , you need a strong story . Because if you do it again and it ’s kind of just fun , wacky conjuring trick , it ’ll be fun , but I think you take a berth to drive towards . And I recollect that will be the challenge coming up with that . But I have no doubt that there ’s an power to do that .

Season 2 was never discussed when we shoot it , but I think if you enter this earthly concern again , the important thing is it has to be dissimilar from Season 1 . time of year 1 is where we introduce the characters to the world , then there ’s a moxie of floor and there ’s jinks within that . If you proceed in the same kingdom with the hijinks matter , I think you care that you detract from some of the first season and it does n’t ramp up , and some of the plot line become a bit meaningless . So , I cerebrate if you do it again , it needs potentially to move out of Halstead Manor , it potentially would move out of Britain as well for some of it . For me , again , you never emulate it because it ’s one of the best cinema of all time , but the musical theme of The Godfather , that his soul is properly darkened , and me and Guy always had a little minute of a debate with this . I wanted , even in the first season , for Eddie to be a small sullen than he is at the very end . But I ’d say if they ’re going to go there again , Eddie peculiarly needs to go into the backtalk of the devil and he needs to be fully corrupted and as a result , the others around him do n’t recognize the man he ’s become .
Where Could Eddie’s Story Go In The Gentlemen Season 2?
The Gentlemen Could Evolve If It Continues
James ' ideas forThe Gentlemenseason 2would give Eddie a much darker report , something that was set up in season 1 because of how good he is working with the Glass family . His idea about moving the show to another country echo Scodelario ’s promise for season 2 when interview byCollider . Because both lead actors need to see the show become more about the wider public of the family ’s drug operations , this could be the everlasting assumption for season 2 if the show gets renewed .
With James comparing Eddie ’s future journey toThe Godfather , the darker direction the actor wants to take the show could lead to some interesting results . Depending on how time of year 2 could be approached , the series could acquire similarly toBarry , which slowly became more a dramatic event and less a drollery as it went on . By pulling inspiration from other crime storey , the show could produce something refreshed with its cast while also offer a familiar lens from other offence stories . It could also storm with a different steering that keeps its comedic moments intact .
Beyond Eddie and Susie , though , The Gentlemen ’s castwould involve to return , as engaging characters like Freddy ( Daniel Ings ) and Stanley Johnston ( Giancarlo Esposito ) were highlighting of season 1 . While they do n’t need to have the major roles they did in the first instalment , season 2 would require its memorable side characters to make it all the more entertaining . However , with Eddie such a monumental stress in what James wants to do with the show , it could change things in unexpected fashion , rationalize the change of scene , and perhaps even of side character too .
